The Pacific Basin Music Festival
Perform in Hawaii

The Pacific Basin Music Festival provides the wonderful opportunity of an international festival in the beautiful tropical setting of Hawaii. Open to bands, orchestras, and choirs, the festival has been bringing together music students from all around the Pacific Rim for over 25 years.

Outside the Hawaii Theatre


Traditionally occurring the last full week of March every year in Waikiki on the island of Oahu, this festival offers much more than just its tropical setting. The week is filled with musical performances, workshops and social events all with the focus of cultural exchange. Full Article

Midwest Clinic
World Projects at the 2009 Midwest Clinic

For five incredible days this past December, the World Projects team participated in the 63rd Annual Midwest Clinic: An International Band and Orchestra Conference in Chicago.

In 1946, the first Midwest Clinic commenced when 120 directors from the Chicago area gathered in a local YWCA gym for a six-hour clinic and new music reading session. In 2009, over 15,000 music directors, composers, students, and music industry professionals from every state in our nation and more than 30 countries around the world gathered for a week of practical instruction, inspiration, and performances by over 40 outstanding ensembles. Europe is home to some of the finest and longest running jazz festivals in the world, and festivals run throughout the summer months.

One of the best known festivals in Europe is the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, which runs for three weeks during July. This festival attracts a variety of genres and ensembles from all around the world. The festival operates a ‘Music in the Park’ program for high school and university jazz ensembles which includes performances at outdoor venues along the picturesque shore of Lake Geneva. As well as the performance opportunities, groups can also attend other concerts presented by world class jazz and contemporary musicians. Full Article
