WASBE East European Conference The World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE) is pleased to announce its East European Conference which will take place July 6-14, 2014, in Debrecen, Hungary.
This regional conference will feature nine ensembles from the East European region as well as a select few groups from North America and Asia. Iceland Site Inspection I had the opportunity to travel to Iceland on a setup trip to learn not only about the wonderful culture and group touring sites on offer but also about the musical opportunities available to visiting bands, choirs and orchestras.
For a country with roughly the same population as St. Louis, Missouri, I was fascinated by the musical heritage and progression found not only in the larger cities, but across the country. In addition to its natural and musical offerings, Iceland has become a much more affordable destination after its economic crash in 2008.
